Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the 50 Sen coin from Japan's Meiji period is that it was designed by a British artist named George William de Saulles, who was invited by the Japanese government to create a new currency design. The coin features an image of a phoenix on one side and the Japanese imperial crest on the other. This coin was minted from 1873 to 1905 and was made of silver with a purity of 80%.
