Date of issue: 29 SEP 1993The Himalayan, or white-chested bear - a rare species of bears, whose number in Russia is declining. It is found in the broad-leaved and cedar forests and river valleys and on the mountain slopes in the Khabarovsk and Maritime Territories. The Himalaan bear is protected in the Lazovsky, Sikhote-Alinsky, Ussuriisky and other preserves.
Coins weight varies 5.85-6.10 g. There is no now reliable information about the coin's standard weight.
