Menzel: BBBFa: Uhrkettenfabrik (Watch chain factory)
The company was founded in 1885 by the businessman Emil Kollmar (1860-1939) and the technician Wilhelm Jourdan (1855-1925). In 1901 around 400 workers were employed at Kollmar & Jourdan.
Interesting fact
The 50 Pfennigs coin from Pforzheim (Kollmar and Jourdan A.G.) 1916 is interesting because it was produced during a time of economic turmoil in Germany, specifically during the hyperinflation period of the early 1920s. The coin's value was worth 50 Pfennigs when it was first minted, but due to the rapid inflation, its value decreased significantly over time. Today, it is considered a rare collector's item and can be worth much more than its original face value.
