Haydée Tamara Bunke Bider, known as Tamara Bunke, or her nickname Tania, was an Argentine born revolutionary, who served in the troops of Ernesto "Che" Guevara.She joined Cuban forces on 1961, after the Castro revolution, and once training, acted as information collector at Bolivia, till joined to Guevara's forces when they started guerilla actions at Bolivia.
Tania died in combat on 1967, and her remains were identified on 1998, and conducted to Cuba, buried at the Guevara Memorial, at Santa Clara, with several other guerilla fighters, killed at Bolivia.
Interesting fact
The 50 Pesos (Tania the Guerilla Fighter) coin from Cuba features an image of Tania Bunke, a Cuban revolutionary who fought alongside Che Guevara in the Congo. She was known as "Tania the Guerilla Fighter" and was a prominent figure in the Cuban Revolution. This coin was issued in 1989 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of her death.
