The Lighthouse of Alexandria was a high tower built at Pharos island (hence the name of "faro" in Spanish for lighthouse) on 3rd. century BC, esteemed to be 100/110m. high. was heavily damaged on three earthquakes from 956 to 1323, it ruins stayed till 1480, when last stones were used to build a fortification in the same place.
