Released individually in 2006 (6,310 sales) and in a 2-coin set with the Victoria Cross soldier design, this design was also struck in copper-nickel, silver piedfort and gold proof. Issue limit: 7,500.The coin was re-issued in 2009 as part of the 16-piece set (1,168 sales) to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the 50 pence denomination. The 2009 issue was also struck in copper-nickel, gold proof and gold piedfort. Issue limit: 5,000.
