Comment
The AA die letters are sometimes below the “50” in the denomination and sometimes to the left of the “50”.
When adding years to coin designs the Isle of Man used one style for the digits until 1989 and another style from 1990 on (with the exception of 20 Pence coins from 1998 on). The difference is most easily noticed in the 9s and 6s in the date. This type exists with both styles.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the 50p coin is that it features a unique design that represents the Isle of Man's rich history and culture. The coin's reverse side depicts a Viking longship, which is a nod to the island's Viking heritage. The Vikings first settled in the Isle of Man in the 9th century, and their influence can still be seen in the island's language, customs, and architecture. The coin's design also includes the inscription "Isle of Man" in Viking runes, adding to its cultural significance.
