Released individually in 2007 while also being struck in copper-nickel, silver piedfort and gold proof.The coin was re-issued in 2009 as part of the 16-piece set (1,168 sales) to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the 50 pence denomination. The 2009 issue was also struck in copper-nickel, gold proof and gold piedfort. Issue limit: 5,000.

The design was used again in 2019 with the Jody Clark fifth portrait to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 50p in the Culture set.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it was minted to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Scouting Movement, which was founded by Robert Baden-Powell in 1907. The coin's design features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on one side and a depiction of a scout on the other, surrounded by the inscription "Be Prepared" - the motto of the Scouting Movement.
