Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the 50p coin is that it features a unique design that commemorates the Scouting Movement. The coin's reverse side depicts a scout holding a Union Jack flag, surrounded by the inscription "Be Prepared" - the motto of the Scouting Movement. This design was created by the artist, David Knapton, who was inspired by his own experiences as a scout. The coin was issued in 2019 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Scouting Movement in the UK.
