Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the 50p coin is that it features a unique sailing design, depicting Queen Elizabeth II on the deck of a sailboat, with the wind in her hair and a spinnaker in the background. This design was created by sculptor Matthew Bonaccorsi and was issued to commemorate the 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships, which were held in Perth, Australia. The coin's unique design and limited mintage make it a sought-after collector's item among numismatists and sailing enthusiasts.
