The featured Great Pagoda at Kew was built in 1762 as a gift for Princess Augusta. First issued in 2009 with Ian Rank-Broadley's fourth portrait to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew and to celebrate 40 years of the 50 pence denomination, this 2019 issue features Jody Clark's fifth portrait and was released as part of the 5-coin British Culture Sets celebrating 50 years of the 50p.
