Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it features a unique design, showcasing a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on one side and a vignette of Dr. Samuel Johnson's famous dictionary on the other. The coin's design was created by sculptor and coin designer, Ian Rank-Broadley, and it was issued to commemorate the 250th anniversary of Johnson's Dictionary, which was first published in 1755. The coin's gold composition and piedfort (double-thick) strike make it a particularly special and collectible piece.
