Comment

The second in a 4-coin set commemorating the 25th anniversary of the publication of the first Harry Potter book - The Philosopher's Stone.

This strike was issued after the passing of Queen Elizabeth II but the design was the last commemorative coin to bear the image of The Queen in support of His Majesty the King's ambition for a sustainable transition. This ensured minimal environmental impact as the designs, tools and packaging for these products had already been produced.

The coin was issued individually and was also struck in a variety of metals and denominations. Issue limit: 15,010.

Interesting fact

The Hogwarts Express 50p coin features a unique design that showcases the iconic train that takes students from Platform 9 3/4 to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the Harry Potter series. This coin is particularly special because it is a silver proof coin, meaning that it is made of 92.5% silver and has a high level of detail and shine. Additionally, it weighs 8 grams, which is slightly heavier than a standard 50p coin. This coin is a must-have for any Harry Potter fan or coin collector!
