Comment

The first Christmas 50p coin for Gibraltar was minted in 1988. It depicts a head and shoulders of the Three Wise Men from the biblical story of Nativity. All three men are shown in beautiful detail, bearing gifts of frankincense, gold and myrrh. Half encircling them are branches of holly.

The CuNi Diamond Finished 50p coins are avaliable mounted in a Christmas card. This has the greetings inside written in eight different languages and on the outside is a snow covered church beneath a starry sky - one of the stars contain 50p coin.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the 1988 Gibraltar Christmas 50p coin is that it features a unique design that depicts a Christmas scene with a traditional nativity scene, surrounded by festive decorations and a sprig of holly. The coin's design was created by the artist, John M. L. Mills, and it has become a popular collector's item among numismatists and Christmas coin collectors.
