Interesting fact
The Plesiosaurus featured on the 50p coin is a depiction of a marine reptile that lived during the time of the dinosaurs, specifically during the Jurassic period. It's a unique and fascinating design choice for a coin, especially since it's not a commonly featured creature on currency.
