This coin was issued to commemorate the Birmingham Commonwealth Games and included as part of the Annual Proof sets (6,891 sales), Premium Proof sets (2,462 sales), Brilliant Uncirculated sets (40,873 sales), individually in a BU pack (12,469 sales), in trade packaging for third parties (56,887 sales) and a coin and stamp cover set (552 sales). The coin was also struck in colourised copper nickel (with 4 different privy marks), silver proof, colourised silver proof, silver piedfort, colourised silver piedfort, gold proof and platinum proof.
