Interesting fact
The 50p coin commemorating the Battle of Hastings features a design depicting King Harold II with an arrow in his eye, which is a historically inaccurate representation of his death. According to most historical accounts, Harold died from a blow to the head from a battle-axe, not an arrow. Despite this, the coin's design has been praised for its striking imagery and has become a popular collector's item.
