Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it features a unique design that commemorates the triathlon event, which is a first for a UK coin. The reverse side of the coin depicts a triathlete in action, with the three disciplines of swimming, cycling, and running represented in a continuous motion. This design was created by artist Sarah Harvey and was chosen as the winning entry in a public competition organized by the Royal Mint.
