Issued for circulation in 2011 as part of the 29-piece set struck to commemorate the Summer Olympics & Paralympics, London 2012 as well as in a Brilliant Uncirculated pack (123,195 sales), while also sold with the other 28 BU packs in a folder (25,759 sales), the coin was also struck in silver BU and gold proof.© The Royal Mint, 2011
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it features a unique design depicting table tennis players in action, which is a first for a UK coin. The design was created by artist David Knapton and was chosen from a competition held by the Royal Mint. The coin was issued to celebrate the 2011 World Table Tennis Championships, which were held in London.
