The 2008 strike was released as part of the changeover from the Emblems of Britain to the Royal Shield in a dual proof set. The coin was also issued in copper-nickel, silver piedfort, gold proof and platinum proof. Issue Limit: 10,000©The Royal Mint, 2008
The 2009 issued as well as being part of the Annual Silver set (no sales data) was also part of the 16-piece set (1,168 sales) to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the 50 pence denomination. This design was also struck in copper-nickel, silver proof and gold proof. Issue limit: 5,000.

In 2012 for the Queens Diamond Jubilee most coins were selectively plated with Gold and so this silver proof edition was limited.
The 2015 strike was issued as part of the dual set to commemorate the change from the 4th portrait to the 5th as well as in the annual silver proof set and was also struck in copper-nickel, gold proof and platinum proof.
