Interesting fact
The 50p coin featuring Benjamin Britten, released in 2013, was the first coin to be issued by the Royal Mint to commemorate a composer. It was part of a series of coins celebrating the 100th anniversary of Britten's birth. The design of the coin features a portrait of Britten on one side and a depiction of a musical score on the other.
