Interesting fact
The 50p coin commemorating the D-Day Anniversary featuring Charles III was designed by sculptor and engraver, David Knapton. The design depicts a portrait of Charles III in a polished field, surrounded by a pattern of leaves and flowers, symbolizing the passing of time and the continuity of the British monarchy. The coin's obverse features the standard effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as it was issued during her reign.
