Released in the coronation year of King Charles III, the designs feature eight brand-new reverse designs that pay tribute to King Charles III, the four nations of the United Kingdom and the natural world.
The 2023 coins were issued in a Brilliant Uncirculated Definitive Set (sales unknown), a BU historic set which included a set of 1948 coinage (issue limit: 2,023; sales 2,023) a first and last BU set (sales unknown) as well as in Proof (Issue limit: 12,023; sales unknown)

Interesting fact
The 50p coin featuring Charles III, which was minted in 2023-2024, is the first coin to feature a member of the British royal family with a beard. This is a departure from the traditional depiction of royalty on British coins, which typically show a clean-shaven monarch.
