Interesting fact
The interesting fact about this coin is that it was minted to commemorate the baptism of Pope John Paul II, who was born Karol Józef Wojtyła in 1920 and became the Pope in 1978. He was the first non-Italian Pope in over 400 years and served until his death in 2005. The coin features an image of the Pope's baptism on one side and the Vatican coat of arms on the other. It was minted in 1991, which was also the year of the Pope's 10th anniversary of his papacy.
