Comment
This design was later used for GDR coinsInteresting fact
The Pattern 50 Kopeks coin was designed to be used as a substitute for the Soviet 50 Kopeks coin during the German occupation of Ukraine during World War II. The coin was minted in 1943 and features a unique design that is different from the standard Soviet 50 Kopeks coin. The obverse of the coin features the Ukrainian national emblem, while the reverse features a stylized image of a wheat ear and the denomination "50 КОПЕЙК" (50 Kopeks). The coin was minted in iron, which was a common material used for coins during this time period due to the scarcity of other metals. Despite being designed as a substitute, the Pattern 50 Kopeks coin is now a rare and highly sought-after collector's item among numismatists.
