Comment
Part of a series of 15 coins designed by Christian Lacroix that trace the line of French rulers from King Clovis who united the Frankish tribes to François Mitterand, the longest-serving prime minister of the Republic. The coins were released in both silver and gold at three coins per year over 5 years, culminating in 2015. Although sold individually, Monnaie de Paris also issued a special casket for collectors to unite the complete sets in either silver or gold.Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the Non-circulating coin 50 Euros (Raymond Poincaré) 2015 from France made of Gold (.920) weighing 8.45 g is that it was minted to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Raymond Poincaré, a French statesman and philosopher who served as the President of France from 1913 to 1920. The coin features an image of Poincaré on the obverse side, while the reverse side features an image of the French Republic's coat of arms. The coin's gold content and limited mintage make it a valuable collector's item for numismatists and coin collectors.
