Monnaie de Paris strikes coins for France since year 864. The treasures, that belongs to its heritage, are the series’ essence. It recounts France’s History on some twenty coins, going from the Roman period until today.The series will be launched in two stages: the first wave in March 2019 and the second one in September 2019. It is composed of 18 10€ Silver coins depicting former french currencies.
Two uncoloured 50€ Silver coins, two uncoloured 50€ Silver coins and the 200€ Gold coin complete the series and present strong French symbols.
Interesting fact
The Declaration of Human Rights coin was minted to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948. The coin's design features an image of the Declaration's preamble, along with the words "Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité" (Liberty, Equality, Fraternity), which are the national motto of France. The coin's obverse side features an image of Marianne, the national personification of France, surrounded by the words "République Française" (French Republic).
