A feast for the eyes: the four Canadian seasons are revealed in this uniquely shaped panorama.Spring, summer, autumn, winter - this striking panorama invites you to enter the Canadian landscape and experience the four seasons of life. From the vivid hues of spring to the sun-drenched greenery of summer, the changing colors of fall foliage and the calm of snowy winter, the four seasons unfold before your eyes, forming a colorful spectrum in the maple leaf that brings to life this celebration of Canada's natural beauty.
Colorful relief
In this engraved panorama, each season is represented by a distinct color palette, borrowed directly from nature. The relief is thus enhanced by an evolving coloration that reflects nature's cyclical transformation.
A source of pride
The motif presents nature as an essential part of the Canadian identity. Landscapes and wildlife from across the country blend harmoniously, ensuring a smooth transition from one season to the next.
DID YOU KNOW?
Just as the landscape changes with the seasons, so do some animals. Many northern mammals, including the Arctic fox and Peary caribou, shed their summer coats for thicker, white fur to keep them warm in winter.
In spring and summer, blazing red, burnt orange and golden yellow - colors we associate with autumn and its leaves - patiently await their turn, masked by chlorophyll, a green pigment essential for photosynthesis. (Red colors are revealed in autumn in response to bright light and the sugars present in the leaves). As summer gives way to autumn and the sun becomes more timid, leaves stop producing chlorophyll, which fades to reveal other colors created by various pigments: xanthophyll creates yellow, carotenoid creates orange, and anthocyanin creates red. When these pigments disappear in turn, all that's left are the tannins, which give the leaves a brown color.
Packaging
The coin is encapsulated and presented in a black double-shell case adorned with the Royal Canadian Mint logo. The case is accompanied by a black protective box.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it features a unique design that showcases the four seasons in a single image, with each season depicted on a different side of the coin. This design element is meant to represent the cyclical nature of time and the changing seasons, and it adds an extra layer of beauty and meaning to the coin. Additionally, the coin's high silver content and detailed design make it a valuable and collectible item for coin enthusiasts.
