Comment

In 1873, the General Council of les Valls d'Andorra officially declared Our Lady of Meritxell as "patroness saint and special protector since time immemorial" of the Principality, although it was not until 1914 that the Holy See confirmed the patronage. Since its coronation in 1921 (postponed due to the First World War), Andorrans and visitors have fervently celebrated this religious day, also in a playful and institutional way.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about this coin is that it features a unique blend of metals, with 92.5% silver, 2.5 grams of 0.917 gold, and 0.0737 AGW (alloy of gold, silver, and other metals). This combination of metals gives the coin a distinctive look and makes it stand out from other coins.
