Comment

This coin belongs to the 2007 Series dedicated to the Popes of the 20th Century.
John XXIII: He took charge of the Church when he was 77 years old, so his pontificate lasted only four, from 1959 to 1963. However, he won the sympathy and respect of his faithful. In his encyclical 'Pacem in terris' he explained the recognition of the rights and duties of man as the basis of peace. Known as 'the good Pope', he convened the Second Vatican Council, convened a Synod, the first, and began the revision of Canon Law. John Paul II beatified him in 2000.

Interesting fact

The 50 Cèntims (Pope John XXIII) coin from Andorra, made of Copper-nickel and weighing 9g, features an image of Pope John XXIII on the obverse side, while the reverse side depicts the coat of arms of Andorra. This coin was issued in 2007 as a non-circulating coin, meaning it was not intended for general circulation but rather as a collector's item. It's an interesting fact that Pope John XXIII was known for his progressive reforms within the Catholic Church, and this coin serves as a commemoration of his legacy.
