Interesting fact
The 50 cents coin featuring King Mswati III's second portrait was the first coin to be introduced in the new currency system of Eswatini (formerly known as Swaziland) in 1996. It replaced the previous 1 Rand coin and was introduced to ease transactions and reduce the need for small denomination banknotes.
