The Royal Australian Mint’s new 50c Coloured Uncirculated Coin celebrates 60 years of the famous Bathurst Great Race. Held at Mt Panorama in Bathurst, NSW every year since 1963. The race is an Australian sporting institution and has provided a true endurance test of driver and machine as the best racers in the country - and indeed the world - have challenged the mighty mountain. Built on the back of the legendary Ford & Holden rivalry, the annual race has made household names of Peter Brock, Allan Moffat, Dick Johnson and so many more. Globally recognised as one of the worlds greatest motorsports events, the Repco Bathurst 100 remains an annual focal point for racers and fans alike as an iconic event on the calendar.
It was issued in a capsule in a large sized coincard.
