Comment

This coin is part of the First Lunar Series, which on Silver only coins commenced in 1999, and continued until 2010 to enable the full 12 Chinese Calendar animals to be issued in this design.

The second series, Lunar Series II, which had a slightly different design commenced in 2008. This caused Series I and II to overlap during a two-year span from 2008 to 2010.

This is the reason this coin has an obverse dated 2008 and a reverse with a date of 2010.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the 2010 Australian 50c Silver Bullion Coin (4th Portrait - Year of the Tiger) is that it has a unique privy mark on the reverse side of the coin. The privy mark is a small image of a tiger's paw print, which adds an extra layer of detail and collectibility to the coin. This privy mark is not found on other coins in the series, making it a distinctive feature of this particular coin.
