Comment

The Royal Australian Mint issued this NCLT coin as a tribute to Australian armed forces who served in the Malayan Emergency between 1948 to 1960. As Australian troops were committed to the Korean War, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) aircraft were sent to assist British forces in Malaya to help suppress a communist insurgency there through aerial bombing and leaflet dropping.

This coin is part of the "Australians at War" 18 coin series being issued individually. Six coins were issued in 2014, Six in 2015 and the final Six in 2016.
