The Royal Australian Mint issued this NCLT coin as a tribute to those who served on the HMAS Sydney which was involved in Australia's first naval victory. It commemorates the grounding of the German light cruiser "Emden" near the Cocos Islands on 9th November 1914This coin is part of the "Australians at War" 18 coin series being issued individually. Six coins were issued in 2014, Six in 2015 and the final Six in 2016.
This coin was issued in an individual credit card sized coincard.
