The Royal Australian Mint has released this Uncirculated NCLT 50 cent coin in a coincard to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Ghan, a historic and unforgettable transcontinental railway adventure from Adelaide in South Australia to Darwin in the Northern Territory. The romance of the journey is immortalised in the Ghan's logo - a mounted cameleer - and it's legendary route, from Adelaide to Darwin , passing through some of Australia's most spectacular and beautiful scenery and travelling through magnificent and beautiful landscapes from the desert to the tropics. From its inception in1929, as a steam train forging through fires, floods and severe weather, the Ghan has now become one of Australia’s most luxurious and iconic railway journeys.
