Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the Pattern 50 Cents (Copper-Nickel Pattern) 1980 from Zimbabwe is that it features a unique design that was never adopted for circulation. The coin's obverse side shows a portrait of President Robert Mugabe, while the reverse side features a depiction of a family of elephants. This design was created by artist Thomas M. Sipos, and it was intended to be used as a commemorative coin to celebrate Zimbabwe's 10th anniversary of independence. However, the design was ultimately rejected in favor of a different design, and only a small number of pattern coins were produced. As a result, the Pattern 50 Cents (Copper-Nickel Pattern) 1980 from Zimbabwe has become a highly sought-after collector's item among numismatists.
