One interesting fact about the Acadian Festival of Caraquet 50-cent coin is that it features a unique design that showcases the cultural heritage of the Acadian people of New Brunswick. The coin's reverse side features a depiction of a traditional Acadian fishing village, complete with a lighthouse, fishing boats, and a group of people dancing in traditional Acadian costume. This design was created by Canadian artist and designer, Bonnie Ross, and it was meant to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Acadian Festival, which is held annually in Caraquet, New Brunswick.
