Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the Pattern 50 centimes Marianne (Piéfort Cupro-nickel alu) 1962 from France is that it was designed by the French sculptor and engraver, Auguste C. L. Pétel. Pétel was a prominent artist during the early 20th century and was known for his work on various coins and medals. The coin features a portrait of Marianne, the national personification of France, on one side and the French Republic's motto "Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité" on the other. The use of Copper-aluminium-nickel in the coin's composition was a unique choice at the time and adds to the coin's distinctiveness.
