Interesting fact
The Pattern 50 Centavos coin from Mexico, made of silver in 1889, features an error in its design. The coin was intended to have the image of a liberty cap on the reverse side, but instead, it features a small bird, known as a "chapultepec," perched on a cactus. This error was caused by a miscommunication between the Mexican government and the mint in Paris, where the coins were produced. As a result, only a small number of coins were minted with this error, making them highly sought after by collectors.
