KM refers to this issue as struck in billion. However, XRF testing conducted by Stacksbowers on this coin in 2017 showed it to be struck in nearly pure silver. The metallic content of that coin being: Silver: 97.51, Copper: 1.66, Rhodium: 0.54, Gold: 0.23 & Zinc: 0.05.Interesting fact
The 50 Centavos coin from the State of Guerrero, Mexico, made of Billon in 1915, features an image of a serpent on its reverse side, which is a symbol of the indigenous people of the region, the Nahua.
