Interesting fact
The 50 Cedis coin was introduced in 1995 as part of a new currency system in Ghana, replacing the old cedi currency. The coin features the portrait of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the first president of Ghana, on one side, and the Black Star of Africa on the other. The coin was designed by the Ghanaian artist, Professor Ablade Glover.
