Interesting fact
The 50 Cash coin from Honan Province (now known as Henan Province) was minted during a time of great economic and political change in China. The coin was introduced in 1920, just a few years after the fall of the Qing dynasty and the establishment of the Republic of China. The coin's design features a stylized dragon on one side and the Chinese characters for "Ho-nan" on the other. Despite its relatively low denomination, the coin was made of brass, which was a more durable and valuable material than the copper or zinc used in other coins of the time. This coin is a rare and interesting example of the currency used during a pivotal moment in Chinese history.
