The 5 Rupees (Dr. M.G.Ramachandran) 2017 coin from India is unique in that it features a portrait of Dr. M.G.Ramachandran, a former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, on one side, and the national emblem of India on the other. This coin was released as a tribute to Dr. M.G.Ramachandran's contributions to the state and the country.
