Interesting fact

The Battle of Borodino was a pivotal conflict during the Napoleonic Wars, fought on September 7, 1812, between the French Grande Armée and the Russian army led by General Mikhail Kutuzov. The battle was a bloody and intense one, with both sides suffering heavy casualties. The Russian army ultimately emerged victorious, but at a great cost. The coin was issued in 2012 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of this significant event in Russian history.
