Overdate 1858 8/7

The "curved 5" variant refers to the 5 in the denomination, not the date. On this variant the top bar of the 5 is equal in thickness along its whole length, and the whole bar is curved downwards in the middle. This variant is notably scarcer than the normal (1550 kr in EF compared to 425 kr - 2011 prices).

Nothing is sure about the LA variants. The conclusion is that in all of these series (Oscar I, Carl XV, Oscar II) most of the supposed "variants" are just due to small die flaws, especially where the presence/absence of dots is concerned, and in cases where the LA is missing altogether.

Interesting fact

The 5 Öre coin from Sweden, minted during the reign of King Oscar I (1857-1858), features a unique design element - a small crown on the obverse side, which was added to signify the coin's denomination. This feature was not present on other coins of the same denomination minted during the same period, making it a distinctive characteristic of this particular coin.
