The sixth and final set of £5 coins issued between 2014 and 2018, commemorating the 100th anniversary of The First World War. This issue was part of the second 6-coin set released in 2018, celebrating the Armistice of The First World War and was also produced in silver proof. The edge inscription is from an exclusive poem for the Royal Mint by Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy.

One interesting fact about the coin is that it features a unique reverse design by artist David Rowlands, which depicts a representation of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission's symbol of a cross and poppies, commemorating the centenary of the end of World War I.
