Comment
Initially, this series was intended to be 23 silver proof coins, issued in monthly intervals as subscription. Unfortunatelly, after issuing only eight coins, Royal Mint decided to stop this collection. Krauze catalogues list the full range of these coins, even most of them were never issued.Below the photo of the commercial leaflet from Royal Mint (image from Royal Mint Museum). This leaflet confirm that originally 23 coins were planned.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it features a unique design, showcasing a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on one side and a portrait of Steven Gerrard, a former English professional footballer, on the other. This coin was issued to commemorate Gerrard's appointment as an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in 2005.
