On September 9th 2015 Her Majesty The Queen became the United Kingdom’s longest reigning monarch, surpassing the record previously held by her great-great-grandmother, Queen Victoria.The obverse has a rare alternative effigy that did not feature on circulating coins. The obverse design was struck on a variety of base and precious metal compositions and denominations. Issue limit: 15,000.

The coin was also issued as part of a three mint joint set alongside coins from the Royal Australia Mint and the Royal Canadian Mint. The Australian piece was a five dollar silver proof and the Canadian piece was a twenty dollar colourised silver proof (see links below).
