Comment

On September 9th 2015 Her Majesty The Queen became the United Kingdom’s longest reigning monarch, surpassing the record previously held by her great-great-grandmother, Queen Victoria.

The obverse has a rare alternative effigy that did not feature on circulating coins. The obverse design was also struck on a variety of precious metal compositions and denominations.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about this coin is that it was minted to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II's record-breaking reign, which surpassed the previous longest reign of Queen Victoria in 2015. The coin's design features a special effigy of the Queen, created by sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley, and includes the inscription "LONGEST REIGN" to highlight this achievement.
